As it is right now in the Premier League, Romelu Lukaku became the most expensive striker when he switched Everton for Manchester United in the Summer transfer. Having impressed in the pre-season and recently scoring the only goal in his first official match for United in the Super Cup loss against Real Madrid, he is set to face the real test.
Lukaku had a short but unsuccessful spell at Chelsea but he has been successful in other clubs he had played for in the Premier League (Westbrom and Everton). Lukaku has proven to be a reliable striker at Everton having scored 53 goals in his 3 years spent at Everton.
All eyes would be on the striker when Manchester United face Westham on Sunday afternoon. Although, Mourinho had lobbied to sign Perisic whom he felt is likely to feed Lukaku more with cross, but the player have showed he does not necessarily needs a final pass for him to score.
At Everton, Lukaku scored all kind of goals, from a 30 yard from the outside the box to scoring a free kick. He runs with the ball and is very powerful. He is a player meant for the Premier league and if Mourinho can have the right set of players behind him, there should not be a problem at all.
So far, almost all big new signings who are strikers have gotten on the score sheet for their respective clubs. Now, all attentions are turned to Lukaku. He definitely has a point to prove. As the main man, he is expected to get on the score sheet, but his overall performance is also a determining factor.
